Posted: 11 Jun 2013 12:21 PM PDT

Just in time for Pride Month, legendary singer Cher will lend her vocals to the season finale of The Voice on June 18, NBC announced Monday.

For those of you who aren’t gay, this will mark the 67-year-old singer’s first live performance in over 10 years (or, since the Song for the Lonely” days). She’ll be singing the title track off her first album in 12 years, “Woman’s World,” out Sept. 28.

Oh, and Christina Aguilera is performing, too.

Katrina Parker Recaps ‘The Voice:’ It’s Down To The Top 5

Posted: 11 Jun 2013 11:35 AM PDT

Referred to as "the embodiment of [The Voice]" by Rolling Stone, Katrina Parker was a Semi-Finalist on Team Adam during Season 2 of the hit show. Katrina’s currently recording her debut album and stopping in weekly to discuss her favorite moments from Season 4 with Celebuzz.

Okay, a LOT went down on The Voice this week, so let's just cut to the chase. Five contestants, ten performances, one night – GO.

Don't Be Sad, Amber. OK, scratch that. Be sad, because melancholy Amber Carrington is the BEST. "Sad" was one of my favorite moments last night. It was emotive, restrained where it needed to be and pretty flawless vocally (reminiscent of "Stay" earlier this season). THIS is where Amber really shines – songs where she can showcase both her emotional range and all the different parts of her voice (including that gorgeous falsetto). Forget country – I want to hear Amber on pop radio.

Facial Hair Alert. Adam Levine was sporting a bit of facial hair, you guys. I like it, but I don't know how far I want it to go. I'd call this threat level yellow. We'll see if he goes threat level red (or full on ZZ Top) by the end of the season. Fingers crossed! Just kidding. Uncross!

Swon Surprise. The Swon Brothers were a pleasant surprise this week. I haven't exactly been head over heels for them so far, but I thought they were really compelling last night. Everything was strong – the song choices, solid lead vocals via Elder Swon, solid harmonies via Baby Swon and authentic performances that would have been right at home on the CMAs stage. I was especially enamored with "Danny's Song" which inspired an Anne Murray shoutout from Blake Shelton! I call this a SWIN-SWIN.

AMAZEBALLS. Usher said it like it was a real word. Then Adam Levine jokingly repeated it. Then The Voice tweeted it. Guys – let's try NOT to make this word happen again. Just let it die. For the children.

Bad Girls Do it Better. "Bad Girls" was a nice choice for Sasha Allen this week. It was fun, flirty and bold without being too bold (yes, even the neon sign worked for me), giving Sasha another chance to show off her voice AND her ability to move onstage. Plus? Disco Balls!

More Adorable Please. There are two things that will make this show better – more grandmas and more dogs. We got both in The Swon Brothers home visit. First, we were introduced to Nanny Swon who called the experience of seeing them onstage "awesome" (squee!). Then we saw a yorkie, so I paused it, rewound it and paused it again. I love dogs. I love grandmas. This is my kind of party!

We Love You, Michelle. Adam said it. Usher said it. I've said it, but it bears repeating – I LOVE Michelle Chamuel. Last night was no exception. "Clarity" didn't rock my world, but "Time After Time" was a quintessential Michelle moment – full of vocal dynamics, intense sincerity, dramatic fist pumps and exploding clocks. If Michelle is not in the Top 3 tonight, I'll probably break some clocks myself.

What is this, a BBQ? Blake Shelton – That jean jacket was confused about where you were scheduled to be last night.  Were you going to a BBQ or starring on a hit TV show? Why don't you give it a copy of your itinerary next time?

Pass the Tissues. The home visits were all sweet, but the most touching moment (for me) was between Sasha Allen and her daughter who was genuinely surprised to see mom show up unannounced. It warmed the cockles of my cold, cold heart.

The Katy Perry Curse is Confused. When Katy Perry cautioned Amber Carrington about the challenges of singing "Firework" in her good luck video, I gasped. Then Adam mentioned Katy's additional words of warning (whoa!). Y'all, even Katy Perry knows about the Katy Perry Curse now. Does this mean the curse is imploding, thereby becoming null and void?? We can only wait and see.

Are You There, God? It's Me, The Voice. Did someone forget to unplug the fog machine for Sasha Allen's performance of "I Will Always Love You?"  Between the all-white wardrobe, London fog and wind machine everyone looked like they were starring in a Lifetime film tentatively titled "All Soul Singers Go To Heaven."

The Power of 80's/90's Country. Whether you love him or hate him, you have to give Blake Shelton credit for making smart song choices this season. Reintroducing 80's and 90's country hits to America via his contestants is a brilliant strategy. It works especially well for Danielle Bradbery, who can sing the hell out of anything she's given…but don't take my word for it! The proof is in the pudding – IE: the iTunes charts – where I'm sure we'll see Danielle's renditions of "Please Remember Me" and "Who I Am" do exceedingly well this week.

You've Just Been McGraw'd. Taped messages from various mentors and superstars seemed to be an ongoing theme last night. My favorite would have to be Tim McGraw's, simply because whenever I see him I think of 2 things: 1) The Blind Side & 2) That time Faith Hill scolded a woman for grabbing his crotch at a concert, cementing my belief that Faith Hill is more badass than she appears.

Who are your favorites for the Final 3? Leave your thoughts in the comments, and tune in Monday at 8PM ET as I live-tweet the last Monday of performances (@katrinapmusic). You can also hear me this Wednesday (6/12) as I join "On Air with Tony Sweet" to talk my upcoming album, The Voice and PUPPIES (4-6PM PT at UBNRadio.com, Channel 1).

‘The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug’ Trailer: Orlando Bloom Is Back (And Still Kicking Ass)

Posted: 11 Jun 2013 11:37 AM PDT

Ladies, prepare to get your swoon on all over again.

Warner Bros. has released the new trailer for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug Tuesday afternoon and fans of the J.R.R. Tolkien novel (or Peter Jackson‘s Lord of the Rings film franchise) can expect to see a familiar face. Case in point: Orlando Bloom reprising his role of the blonde-headed, ethereally-gorgeous Legolas.

Ten years after Return of the King‘s release, the actor is picking up his bow and arrows once more to join Martin Freeman, Sir Ian McKellen and Richard Armitage in the follow-up to 2012′s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.

The film, which will also see newcomers Luke EvansBenedict Cumberbatch — his voice and motion-captured body, that is — and Evangeline Lilly, will precede The Hobbit: There And Back Again.

This second installment of The Hobbit trilogy is due out in theaters on Dec. 13.

‘Real Housewives of Orange County’ Recap: Tamra’s Bachelorette Weekend Creates Tears

Posted: 11 Jun 2013 11:04 AM PDT

Aren’t bachelorette parties supposed to be fun? The ladies of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Orange County seemed to forget that little tidbit. Last week, Vicki Gunvalson decided to show Tamra Barney and Lydia McLaughlin how to get down in Puerto Vallarta by partying the night away. Too bad Vicki and the gals didn’t clue in Gretchen Rossi and Heather Dubrow, who were at the restaurant wondering where the girls were.

Note: Spoilers ahead if you haven’t watched Monday’s episode: “Dirty Dancing in Mexico

Vicki had enough of the prim and proper hen party weekend for Tamra, and spirited her former BFF and newest housewife Lydia away for a real South of the border experience. While the gals all cackled about contacting Gretchen and Heather, none of them took the time out to give them the heads up on what they were doing. With all the tension between Vicki and Gretchen, you would think this would be a peace offering of sorts. Instead, it became another incident for the two feuding divas to break out their jewel-encrusted claws.

As Vicki, Tamra and Lydia channeled their inner sorority girl, Gretchen and Heather fumed about being ditched and decided to split for the hotel. Gretchen also chose this opportunity to fill Heather in on the allegations Lauri Waring-Peterson lobbed at Vicki. Heather saw right through Gretchen’s antics, and let her know she didn’t give two hoots about what escapades Vicki participated in the past. She and her ex-Donn were divorced now, so why should it matter?

Bravo (no pun intended) for Heather! Look Gretchen, if you are disturbed about what you’ve learned about Vicki, considering she’s been riding you hard about your late fiancée Jeff, you’d try to confront her instead of pulling a Lauri and trash talk.

Later, Vicki, Tamra and Lydia finally dragged their drunk and disorderly selves back to the hotel, and faced the wrath of Heather and Gretchen. The women tried to apologize for their behavior, but both Heather and Gretchen weren't in a forgiving mood. Come on girls, they left you in a restaurant to go bar hoping; they didn't leave you in Guantanamo Bay! Lighten up already.

By the next day, all appeared to be forgiven. However, as the ladies took a trip to see the sights Puerto Vallarta had to offer, Lydia just had to bring up the previous night! Girl started going on and on about all the fun they had and how it made the trip, which set Heather and Gretchen off. Lydia let the two chicks know, she was sorry, but isn't about to keep falling on bended knee for the error she made. Seriously ladies, if you were so hurt and wanted to go, why didn't you call them to find out where they were? While Gretchen cried her tears about being hurt for the slight, it made you wonder if she was jealous Vicki was the one who showed Tamra a good time and not her. We all know the PV trip was her idea, and how shady was it that Vicki upstaged her at her own event? Guess Gretchen has to get up a bit earlier in the day to best Vicki. Nice move, Gunvalson.

Buzz Moments

OMG!: Vicki urinating on herself and on Tamra’s bed! Need I say more?

Thank you, TV gods.: Lydia informing Vicki she likes to make everything a competition. Glad someone said it.

Awk-ward: Vicki and her daughter Briana’s gift to Tamra. How uncomfortable was that?

Hotness: The women and their pool attire.

Fab-u-lous: The resort the OC divas used for the weekend getaway.

Can. Not. Wait.: Brooks’ return and to see Heather and Alexis Bellino square off.

Celebuzz Meter (1-10):7.5

Did Gretchen and Heather overact? Were Tamra, Vicki and Lyida wrong? Sound off below!

Internet Fooled by Fake Trailer for ‘Ghostbusters’ Documentary

Posted: 11 Jun 2013 10:57 AM PDT

This trailer, which has been making the internet rounds this week, is purportedly for a documentary film called Spook Central, deconstructing theories about subtle themes and subtext in the 1984 classic, Ghostbusters. From obesity, to the tobacco industry, to a woman’s right to choose, everyone has some idea about what the movie really means.

The trailer is, however, a joke. Mocking films like Room 237, which was released last year and featured several theories about what Stanley Kubrick was really trying to say in the film, including one theory that the movie was Kubrick’s way of admitting his involvement in faking the lunar landing of 1969. Several sites have been fooled, and reported on the trailer as if it were for an actual documentary. First of all, there is no website for Spook Central, which would be incredibly surprising for a real documentary. Second of all, the video was posted on YouTube by a user named Ivo Shandor. That just happens to be the fictional name of the architect in Ghostbusters who designed the building which Dana and Louis live in, the building that, in the movie, is nicknamed “Spook Central.”

So, there is no documentary called Spook Central and it’s all just an elaborate hoax. But a funny one! Now will whoever’s responsible please stand up?

Lauren Conrad Talks Boyfriend William Tell and Why She’s Over Clubbing in Marie Claire

Posted: 11 Jun 2013 09:55 AM PDT

Lauren Conrad is showing off her signature Cali-girl style in Marie Claire‘s upcoming July issue. The stylish blond sports a sunny yellow polka dotted look, her new bangs and a sweet smile for the cute cover shot.

Lauren spoke with the mag about her boyfriend William Tell, why she’s done with the LA club scene, and how she deals with haters.

So, why is new boyfriend William a good match for Conrad? She explains: "He is very good for me because we have a lot in common as far as where we grew up. It's the first time I'm with someone and I'm not explaining things. He also has experience in the entertainment industry, so he understands a lot of things that people don't always get."

She also talked about the hazards of clubbing: "It feels done for me. I'm OK with it being done…I destroyed my voice when I moved to L.A. There are polyps all over my vocal chords because I was in a lot of loud places. If you listen to the first episode of Laguna, my voice is completely different."

The 27-year-old revealed how she copes with the nastiness that comes with being in the public eye:  "There is always gonna be a little bit of…negativity, which just comes with the territory. You realize it doesn't matter. It's so simple, but it's a very hard lesson to learn. At the end of the day, it doesn't really affect you in any way."

Prince Harry’s Love Life: Cressida Bonas Out, Model Cara Delevingne In

Posted: 11 Jun 2013 11:02 AM PDT

Prince Harry, the apple of my eye and defender of all that is jolly, is said to be more or less courting model Cara Delevingne.  This news comes hot on the heels of a rumored break-up between Harry and doe-eyed Cressida Bonas.

Ugh.

This is the same girl who let a white substance fall right out of her bag outside her London apartment last month.

British tabloid LOOK Magazine reports that the model and the royal got chatty at Princess Eugenie‘s “Hollywood Westerns” fancy dress cookout.

“Harry made a beeline for Cara as soon as he spotted her,” a partygoer blabbed to the mag.  ”Everywhere you looked there were models, actors and aristocrats but Harry and Cara didn’t seem to notice. They spent the whole afternoon only talking to each other.

“Cara kept stealing Harry’s cowboy hat tand teasing him about his boots. He seemed to love it and obviously thought she was hilarious.”

Ah, youth.

“Harry’s sent a few messages that were platonic yet a teeny bit flirty, but Cara’s have been more racy,” another source told Now Magazine.  ”She’s texted him to joke that they heated it up at the barbecue.”

Delevingne is the granddaughter of former English Heritage chairman Sir Jocelyn Stevens, and covered many a fashion mag, including Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar.

Cressida, a 24-year-old dancer and actress, was introduced to Harry through Eugenie last year.  Their relationship was tested after Harry’s Vegas shenanigans, but they were said to be back on when he returned home from Afghanistan in January.

See Kristin Cavallari’s White Wedding Dress!

Posted: 11 Jun 2013 08:58 AM PDT

There’s the blushing bride!

Kristin Cavallari looked every inch a Southern beauty as she said “I do” to her fiancé, Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, at the Woodmont Christian Church in Nashville, Tenn., on Saturday.

Walking down the aisle in front of 150 of the couple’s closest friends and family, Cavallari stunned in a strapless, white Monique Lhuillier gown — complete with a laced bodice, belted waist and ruched skirt — while holding a bouquet of white peonies, according to Us Weekly. The groom was dapper in a light-grey suit, while the bridesmaids donned simple, one-shouldered blush dresses.

Following the ceremony, the celebration continued with a reception at Houston Station in Nashville, where reportedly a live band played as wedding goers — which didn’t include any of Cavallari’s former MTV co-stars — noshed on Southern delectables, like chicken biscuits, pulled pork tacos and ribs.

The pair exchanged vows after applying for their marriage license at Davidson County Clerk's office on Friday. “Im officially Kristin Elizabeth Cutler!!!!!” the former Hills star wrote on Instagram that afternoon, sharing a snap of their wedding bands.

It was a long road to the altar for Cavallari, 26, and Cutler, 29: After briefly calling off their engagement in 2011, they rekindled their romance and went on to welcome their first child, son Camden, now 9 months, in August 2012.

Mumford & Sons Bassist Hospitalized for Blood Clot on His Brain

Posted: 11 Jun 2013 08:11 AM PDT

Mumford & Sons bassist Ted Dwane is being treated for a blood clot on his brain.

According to an announcement on the band’s website, Dwane was rushed to the hospital Monday after “feeling unwell for a few days.” Scans soon revealed a blood clot on the surface of his brain, which will require emergency surgery to remove.

As a result, the Grammy Award-winning quartet — which also includes Marcus Mumford, Ben Lovett and Winston Marshal — has been forced to postpone three scheduled shows: in Dallas, Tx., Woodlands, Tx., and New Orleans, La. The bands says make-up shows will be announced as soon as possible.

But the folk-rockers have no further plans to call off other appearances, such as their headlining gig Saturday at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Manchester, Tenn.

“Ted is receiving excellent care and we are being assured that he will recover quickly from surgery,” the statement added. “We're all wishing Ted a speedy recovery.”

Oh My God, Roberto Cavalli, What Fate Hath You Wrought Upon Beyoncé’s Legs?

Posted: 11 Jun 2013 08:10 AM PDT

Designer Roberto Cavalli custom made one of the dresses Beyoncé is wearing on her Mrs. Carter World Tour. Today, the sketch for the gown was posted to Cavalli’s official Facebook page.

In it, Beyonce’s torso and legs look crazy. Seriously. Scroll down for the full sketch if you think you’re ready for this jelly.

Ahhhhh! What happened to her?

This is what Bey actually looks like in the gown, which is gorgeous, by the way:

Watch: John Oliver Debuts as Host of ‘The Daily Show’

Posted: 11 Jun 2013 07:08 AM PDT

John Oliver debuted as temporary host of The Daily Show on Monday, and it was about as funny and easy of a transition as anybody could have hoped for.

Oliver, who will host the show for three months while Jon Stewart directs his debut feature, Rosewater, did his best to address the transition. (“Let’s just all acknowledge for a moment that this is weird,” he said at the top of the show.) But it was mostly down to business for the former Daily Show writer, who put his ego aside to address more important things — like, you know, all that crazy government snooping stuff going on right now in Washington, D.C.

Later on in the show, Oliver had the (un?)fortunate task of interviewing This Is the End star Seth Rogen, who was mostly pleased that Oliver and Stewart had the same first name. Lol, haha, funny.

Watch clips from Oliver’s much-anticipated debut in the videos above and below.

‘Man of Steel’ Isn’t Even Out Yet, But a Sequel Is Already in the Works

Posted: 11 Jun 2013 06:43 AM PDT

The highly anticipated Man of Steel hasn’t even hit theaters yet, but already a sequel is on the fast track at Warner Bros., Deadline reports this morning. Director Zack Snyder and screenwriter David S. Goyer will both be back. In fact, Snyder has a three-picture deal with the studio which includes Man of Steel, its sequel and a Justice League film starring Superman.

While it’s not surprising that Warner Bros. wants to mimic the success Marvel has had with the Avengers universe films, it is surprising that the studio has already fast tracked the sequel to a movie that isn’t even out yet. And, frankly, hasn’t been received so well by critics. In her review for the Village Voice, Stephanie Zacharek says:

Mostly, Man of Steel is preoccupied with its own spectacle. There’s so much heaviness here that, ironically, nothing seems to have its own weight.

With this deal in place, it does look like producer Christopher Nolan will be stepping back a bit. For Man of Steel, Nolan not only served as a producer, but also as mentor and story co-writer. It was his involvement that helped to drum up initial excitement about the film, coming off his success with the Christian Bale-starring Batman franchise reboot.

Simply, the facts are these: there will be a Man of Steel sequel and there will be a Justice League film. Which villain will Henry Cavill‘s Superman take on in the next film? And who will play Wonder Woman in the Justice League? Feel free to speculate in the comments.

Malin Akerman’s Post-Baby Body Puts Us All to Shame

Posted: 11 Jun 2013 06:43 AM PDT

What baby weight?

Just two months after welcoming son Sebastian, Malin Akerman‘s body has already bounced back.

The actress left tongues wagging when she stepped out at the Critics' Choice Television Awards ceremony on Monday night in Los Angeles, Calif., flaunting her svelte-as-ever figure in a black beaded Azzaro mini dress, complemented by cut-out heels and her tousled wavy hair.

The red carpet appearance makes it hard to believe Akerman, 35, gave birth to her first child with husband Roberto Zincone on April 16. But the new mom insists her post-baby shape isn’t perfection.

“You haven’t seen the cellulite on my ass and my stomach,” she told Us Weekly in May. “Oh I’m telling you!”

Hm, we’ll believe it when we see it.

Amy Adams Wins ‘Man of Steel’ Premiere in Nina Ricci Dress

Posted: 11 Jun 2013 06:05 AM PDT

Amy Adams one-upped just about everyone at last night’s New York premiere of Man of Steel when she arrived in a stunning black gown by Nina Ricci.

The four-time Oscar nominee, who will hopefully, finally win the damn prize when that David O. Russell movie comes out later this year, channeled Veronica Lake in the strapless lace gown, which she paired with Tiffany & Co. jewelry, a Christian Louboutin clutch, and Casadei shoes.

Admas, who plays the iconic Lois Lane in the movie, also took a moment to pose with her co-star, Henry Cavill, because, well, who wouldn’t?

Man of Steel opens nationwide on Friday.

Tim Tebow Is About to Sign With the New England Patriots

Posted: 11 Jun 2013 08:47 AM PDT

Tim Tebow, the Heisman Trophy-winning, God-loving quarterback who last year inflicted pain and harm on New Yorkers everywhere when he joined the Jets, will apparently do the same thing to Bostonians this fall as a member of the New England Patriots.

Sources told ESPN on Monday that the 25-year-old is expected to report to the team’s minicamp later today, and will be competing with Ryan Mallett to become backup quarterback for Tom Brady.

If confirmed, Tebow will be reunited with Josh McDaniels, who coached Tebow’s highly publicized stint with the Denver Broncos. (McDaniels is now the Patriots’ offensive coordinator.)

Tebow was cut from the Jets in April after a stint that resulted in 72 offensive snaps and a whole bunch of headaches for twentysomething gay writers who just don’t give a s*** about New York-related sports.

Famous Roles That Were Almost Played By Other Actors

“Actors search for rejection,” Charlie Chaplin once said. “If they don’t get it they reject themselves.”

Fortunately, actors don’t have to search that hard to find the rejection they crave, as even the biggest stars are constantly turned down for roles. So click through the gallery and see some famous roles that could have been completely different had another actor played them.
