With the song, Mayer also released a lyric video featuring the woman behind the viral sensation known as prancercise, Johanna Rohrback. That’s a whole lot of WTF, so we’re going to break it down into digestible bits. Together we will get through this. John Mayer released a new song today…It’s been a while since we’ve heard new music from Mayer. “Born and Raised,” his follow-up to “Battle Studies” was supposed to come out in 2011 but was pushed back to 2012 when he had to have surgery to remove granulomas from his throat. Though the album did come out, Mayer did no touring to support it, due to his throat condition returning. Now he’s all healed and his sixth studio album, “Paradise Valley,” is set to come out soon. …About his relationship with Taylor Swift…Swift and Mayer dated some time ago. Since then, Swift released the song “Dear John” about him, dated every other famous person and released a song about the ways in which each of them was mean to her. But we haven’t really heard Mayer’s side of the story. Or, we have, we just didn’t really care. But “Paper Doll” makes some pretty obvious references to Swift, including the lines “you’re like 22 girls in one” and “someone’s gonna paint you another sky.” The first refers to Swift’s middle-aged-female-nostalgia anthem “22″ and the second refers to a line in “Dear John”: “you paint me a blue sky and go back and turn it to rain.” See if you can find more Swift references at Directlyrics. …With the song, Mayer also released a lyric video featuring the woman behind the viral sensation known as prancercise, Johanna Rohrback.Honestly, there’s not really any explaining this one. | ‘Real Housewives of Orange County’ Recap: Lydia Lights Into Gretchen and Slade Posted: 18 Jun 2013 08:12 AM PDT  Don’t underestimate Lydia McLaughlin. The newest member of Bravo's The Real Housewives of Orange County is not one to mess with. If you don’t believe me, just ask Gretchen Rossi and her slimy fiancé Slade Smiley. Note: Spoilers ahead if you haven’t watched Monday’s episode: “Chicks and Salsa”. In tonight’s episode, Lydia decided throw a salsa dancing party and invited all of the women to attend. Everything seemed to be going great, until Slade decided to crack a joke on Lydia’s behalf about her weight to his woman Gretchen. Unfortunately for the two, Lydia overheard Slade's crass comment about how thin she was. She decided to pull a Phaedra Parks from The Real Housewives of Atlanta, and come for him, even though he didn’t send her. A stunned Gretchen and Slade insisted they were merely joking amongst themselves, and it wasn’t intended to be malicious; however, that didn’t stop Lydia from calling the two out about their childish antics. Lydia let Slade know she was not about to tolerate his rude behavior like the ladies have done so in the past. All a befuddled Slade could do was reiterate his remarks to Gretchen were just a harmless joke, and he never meant to insult her. Slade, were you just saying that to save face because you were busted, or did you really mean what you said about not wanting to disrespect Lydia? How is whispering to someone you will dub the host of a party you are invited to "cheeseburger", because they needed to eat one from being too thin not disrespectful? If that wasn't bad enough for Gretchen, Tamra Barney decided to have Alexis Bellino come along as she and the other ladies went on the hunt for her wedding dress. Are Gretchen's chickens coming home to roost? Even though Gretchen and Slade maintained they were just being silly and jesting with each other, why not share the joke with everyone instead of whispering it like some mean high school kids? It seems the gruesome duo were not ready for the wrath Lydia brought down upon them, despite their best efforts to backpedal as if they were participants of the Tour de France. The lesson learned here kids is never pick on a smaller kid, because you never know if they might just swing back at you. Buzz Moments OMG!: Vicki Gunvalson calling Gretchen the equivalent of toe jam. Ouch. Thank you, TV gods.: Heather Dubrow and Alexis finally working out their issues. It was old and childish. Awk-ward: Tamra dancing with Brooks Ayers. She looked like she’d rather set her hair on fire than do the tango with him. Hotness: The OC chickas in their salsa night dresses. Muy caliente (that’s very hot in Spanish kids)! Fab-u-lous: Tamra’s man Eddie Judge tearing up the dance floor. You are one luck lady T.. Can. Not. 2) #NewRules! From the moment Jay-Z announced Magna Carta Holy Grail in what was, essentially, a three-minute advertisement for Samsung, it was clear that this album was going to test the limitations of traditional album releases. The album is already technically platinum (!!!), as Samsung purchased one million copies to give away to users who download their app. What other exciting things are in store, marketing-wise? Only time will tell, but we’re guessing it will be an exciting couple of weeks.
3) YOU GUYS THERE COULD POTENTIALLY BE A BEYONCÉ COLLABORATION! OH PLEASE, LET THERE BE A BEYONCÉ COLLABORATION!
4) While we may not yet know if Queen Bey will make an appearance on the album, from what we do know about the guest list, it’s still going to slay. Executive produced by Rick Rubin — who also just produced Yeezus — and featuring contributions form the likes of Pharrell, Timbaland, and Swizz Beatz, there are many, many reasons to get hyped.
5) Perhaps the best part for Jay-Z fans — besides the fact that you could potentially score the album for free — is that you don’t have to wait long! Magna Carta Holy Grail is out July 4.

| Amy Adams Talks Lois Lane, Wedding Plans in ‘Allure’ Magazine Posted: 18 Jun 2013 07:43 AM PDT  Amy Adams gets candid in the July issue of Allure, talking about her body, makeup, her daughter and the wedding she’s been planning for five years. She also talks about playing the iconic Lois Lane in Man of Steel, saying, “I’ve wanted to be in a superhero movie, and this was my best chance — as some mere mortal. Let’s be real here. I don’t look that good in Lycra. I do all right, but I hadn’t anticipated that I was ever going to be cast as the girl in Lycra looking hot.” So don’t expect to see her in any Marvel movies anytime soon. Adams also talks about her daughter Aviana and fiancé Darren Le Gallo, who she’s been engaged to since 2008. Adams says she works nonstop and finding time to plan a wedding has been difficult. “We both have a very specific idea that we want to do this [the ceremony] in spring or fall, like in those months, but every time I’m busy working,” Adams says. “I want something very family oriented and laid-back.” And of Aviana, “I wear makeup when I work, so my daughter associates makeup with work and the other day she asked me to not wear makeup at home. If you see any really unflattering paparazzi shots, I’m doing it for my daughter.” Adams, who has been nominated for four Oscars, credits her makeup-free face for some of her success: “I have no features without makeup. I am pale. I have blonde lashes. You could just paint my face — it’s like a blank canvas. It can be great for what I do.” |

In fact, the 26-year-old predicts a rather ominous ending to their tiff, which apparently has something to do with Rihanna (or “the woman,” as he calls her), telling the magazine:
Great! In the meantime, Drake can always seek shelter in his sprawling, 7,500 square-foot mansion in the San Fernando Valley. And why wouldn’t he? According to the profile, the house, which his “boys” call “Disneyland,” has everything from an air-conditioned doghouse to its very own “Safari Room.” (I’m pretty sure none of those things actually exist at the real Disneyland, but whatever.) | ‘The Voice:’ Katrina Parker Recaps The Final Week Of Performances Posted: 18 Jun 2013 08:06 AM PDT  Referred to as "the embodiment of [The Voice]" by Rolling Stone, Katrina Parker was a Semi-Finalist on Team Adam during Season 2 of the hit show. Katrina’s currently recording her debut album and stopping in weekly to discuss her favorite moments from Season 4 with Celebuzz. Well, kids, we've made it to the final week of performances… It seems like just yesterday we were watching Usher refer to Nashville as a state, gasping at the elimination heard round the world (IE: Judith Hill and Sarah Simmons) and being charmed by Shakira as she consulted her country dictionary. I've enjoyed talking The Voice with you every week, but all good things must come to an end. Let's have a dirty martini and chat about last night's episode. The Team That Squats Together Stays Together. Michelle Chamuel and Usher seemed to have formed a really authentic bond this season. This was evident during Usher's adorable dinner with Michelle's family. Who didn't shed a tear when her mom talked about coming to the US as a refugee? Or when Usher said "I see in our future many more dinners like this?" Just when you thought you couldn't feel more, they came out and performed "One" together, and hearts exploded. This was by far my favorite moment of the season. Forget The Voice. I'd love to watch "The Usher & Michelle Show," thanks. Facial Hair Alert. Adam Levine's facial hair is growing rapidly, so this alert is now at Code Orange. Is he going on a shaving strike to protest the loss of his final contestants? Who knows, but if Adam pulls a full on ZZ Top (or Code Red) in the next 6 months, that's on YOU America! Hitting 2 Eagles With One Swon. Team Blake is all about consistency this season. He found a successful niche for his contestants and stuck with it. That's why it makes sense for The Swon Brothers to cover another Eagles song (it went pretty well the first time – why not try it again?). The falsetto was nice, and the harmonies were solid. I would have liked to hear Baby Swon have his own moment, but Elder Swon did a fine job. I'm always game for another Swoncert. Glowing BS. I tried to enjoy Blake Shelton and Danielle Bradbery's rendition of "Timber, I'm Falling in Love," but all I could see was the glowing neon "BS" plastered across the stage. That's kind of appropriate considering the source of those initials, eh? I kid, I kid! Annie Lennox + Michelle Chamuel = Gold. The minute Usher announced "Why" as Michelle's song choice, I was fist pumping. Yes, it was more laidback than her usual fare. Yes, Annie Lennox is the shit and therefore kinda of sacred ground, but I knew it would be good. The song sounded fantastic on Michelle's voice and fit her vibe beautifully. Plus – SPECIAL EFFECTS! Déjà vu. A new addition to finale week was Encore performances (IE: contestants recreating their breakout moments). This seems like a smart idea in theory, but when some of these songs are only a week or two old, it feels a little too soon to be rehashing the good old days. See my previous blogs for thoughts on these songs (we've already been there, done that). Meet the Family. I think NBC should try out a new weekly show called "Awkward Family Bonding with Blake," because those moments with his final contestant's families were deliciously awkward. Maybe it could premiere the same night as "The Usher and Michelle Show." Let Me Go Home. "Home" was in high rotation on KCRW during my pre-season-2-Voice commute. Every time that song came on, I felt instantly better, so I was happy to hear it tonight. While nothing touches the original, this was an appropriate song for a Top 16 reunion. Plus, Baby Swon finally got a solo. Yeehaw! Is the Deck Stacked? Was anyone else taken aback by the song order tonight? Based on the iTunes charts, Facebook comments and general love, I get that Danielle's the favorite to win, but giving her two spots in the last 3 performances of the evening felt a bit icky. If she's going to win, let's make sure it's based solely on her performances, which are good enough not to require any special positioning via producers. Country Cage Dancing. That about sums up the duet between Blake and The Swon Brothers – country cage dancing to an awkwardly constructed song about celebrity. It's a good thing I like cage dancing. Best Team Spirit. Shakira didn't have any horses left in this race, yet she showed the most team spirit of anyone tonight – waving a "Go Okies" flag for The Swon Brothers, wearing Team Michelle glasses and donning a cowboy hat for Danielle. These displays were quirky and sweet (much like Shakira), Born to Fly. Like Adam said to Danielle after her performance of "Born to Fly"– "your perfection is almost boring me at this point. What else can I possibly say?" I concur. Season 5 Shakeup. I was initially hesitant about the changeup of coaches this season, but I've really enjoyed Shakira and Usher, and I'm sad to see them rotate out next season. How will we go on without Shakira's wackadoodle references or Usher's unconventional coaching methods?? Thanks for letting me bend your ear about this season of The Voice. | Melissa Etheridge Calls Angelina Jolie’s Double Mastectomy a ‘Fearful Choice’; Brad Pitt Responds Posted: 18 Jun 2013 12:31 PM PDT  UPDATE 11:35 A.M. PST: Celebuzz obtained a statement from Melissa Etheridge clarifying her comments: “I don’t have any opinion of what she ‘should have’ done. All are free to choose. I only objected to the term ‘brave’ describing it.” Singer Melissa Etheridge is apparently the only one (get it?) who isn’t standing behind Angelina Jolie’s recent decision to have a double mastectomy. The 52-year-old, who is a breast cancer survivor herself, was asked by the Washington Blade to share her thoughts on Jolie’s preventative procedure, which was performed in February after doctors discovered that Jolie carried a faulty gene that put her at high risk of developing breast cancer and ovarian cancer. Here’s what she said:

She was there with Miguel, with whom she collaborated on the top 20 hit, “Hashtag Beautiful.” The 43-year-old Carey, who has clearly come a long way from her spray-painted abs days, has since left Italy, according to the frown face she posted yesterday on her Twitter. Which, if I looked that good and I was in Italy, I would be sad, too. |
| James Franco Now Wants $500,000 of Your Money Posted: 18 Jun 2013 06:39 AM PDT  Because we all have money to blow in this economy: James Franco is now asking fans to donate $500,000 so that he and a bunch of young filmmakers can adapt some short stories he wrote into a trilogy. More specifically, the Oscar-nominated actor has teamed with Indie Gogo (not Kickstarter, like you might have thought) to raise money for “Palo Alto Stories,” three feature-length films based on Franco’s experiences growing up in Northern California. Nina Ljeti, Vladimir Bourdeau, Bruce Thierry Cheung and Gabriel Demestree will helm the projects, should they be able to raise enough money. (So far, they’ve raised over $16,000.) In a quote from Variety, Franco — who will donate all proceeds to the Art of Elysium — said:

| Beyonce and Jay-Z Celebrate 10 Years of The 40/40 Club Posted: 18 Jun 2013 05:44 AM PDT  Beyonce and Jay-Z were back in New York on Monday to celebrate the 10th anniversary of The 40/40 Club. The 40/40 Club is a chain of sports bars owned by Hova and a bunch of his business partners. The one in Manhattan is an ominous-looking building in Madison Square, and I used to pass it every day when I would allow myself to eat lunch at Hill Country Chicken. Ah, budgeting. Anyway, a not-pregnant Beyonce, who just wrapped the European leg of her Mrs. Carter Show Tour, looked as good as you’d expect her to in a cleavage-baring white dress. Her husband, meanwhile, kept it dapper in tie-less gray suit. Also there for the festivities: rapper T.I.; Kylie Minogue; and American Idol runner-up Jessica Sanchez. Swift won big for Favorite International Artist after playing two sold-out shows in Toronto. “This is amazing. Thank you so much,” she said in her acceptance speech. “I just want to thank MuchMusic for playing music videos, and for giving us a reason to put a visual element to the music. To the fans, I’ve had an amazing weekend with you — two sold-out shows. You’re the reason we keep coming back to Canada. So thank you so much for everything.” |
